Running together
Run club: join one near you, or start your own
A run club is a group that runs together at a fixed meet-up, open to all, no licence and no stopwatch. On Buddiz, local run clubs have their page, and every session says who's coming.
What is a run club?
A group that runs together on a fixed day and time: Tuesday at 7 pm outside the same door, Sunday morning in the same park. You come when you can, nobody asks for a licence, a certificate or a time. The meet-up matters more than the pace.
It is not an athletics club: an association affiliated to a federation issues licences, coaches training and enters its members in competitions. Both live side by side on Buddiz, and many people do both.
What you find there: a weekly run, often several pace groups, a start and a finish in the same place, and something to drink afterwards. It is the simplest way to stop running alone.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a certain level to join a run club?
No. Most offer several pace groups, and a Buddiz session shows its pace before you join. No times are published.
Does a run club cost anything?
On Buddiz, no: joining a run club, signing up for its sessions and creating your own is free. Some clubs sell a jersey or organise paid events, that's their business.
How is it different from an athletics club?
An athletics club is an association affiliated to a federation: licence, coach, competitions. A run club is informal and open. On Buddiz both have a page; the association can have "Registered non-profit" or "FFA member" confirmed on its page.
How do I find a run club near me?
Open your city page above or the club directory, filter on running. Each page shows the next sessions and the number of members. No club in your area? Create it: it appears here.
How many people do I need to start a run club?
Two or three are enough. Set a weekly meet-up, hold it for four weeks, and runners nearby who see it on Buddiz come and grow the group.
