Playing sport together: since the summer, as many women as men have been joining Buddiz

Since 1 July 2026, one in two people signing up to Buddiz has been a woman (49.9%). From April to June, it was barely more than one in three (36%). The Normandy-based app, which helps people find someone to play sport with near home, is publishing its first figures.
Women are driving the growth

Sunday morning, the runners' favourite meet-up
Among running sessions that brought together at least two participants since April, Sunday morning comes first, ahead of Wednesday evening and Monday evening. Saturday morning only ranks fourth.
Clubs are opening up to newcomers
Over the last 90 days, 415 people signed up for a session run by a club. More than one in four (110) was not a member of that club.
Buddiz at a glance
- 6,036 members since the app launched in April 2026, including 1,425 sign-ups in September, the best month to date.
- 77% of members with a known location live in Normandy, mainly in Rouen, Le Havre, Caen and Évreux.
- Median age: 35. Nearly two members in three are aged between 25 and 44.
- 7 sports: running, cycling, hiking, padel, 5-a-side football, tennis, fitness.

Methodology
Figures drawn from the Buddiz database as of October 19, 2026, excluding deleted and test accounts. Share of women: calculated on members who stated their gender (87% of accounts). Sports: listed at sign-up, and a member may list several. Time slots: past running sessions since 1 April 2026 with at least two participants, by day and start time. Clubs: confirmed sign-ups for a club session over the previous 90 days, compared with the club's member list.
